I have just tested unclutter, and my recommendation is that it *not* be
included in the default install or session. It does not solve the
problem, and it introduces new problems.

Example 1: With unclutter running, click in an OpenOffice.org or AbiWord
document, and start typing. The cursor should disappear instantly. It
takes five seconds, by which time any benefit is lost, because you've
typed out of range of the cursor anyway.

Example 2: Click in Firefox's search field and type a word or two. The
cursor should disappear instantly, but it *never* disappears.

Example 3: Paint a brush stroke in Gimp, then pause for a few seconds
considering your next stroke. The cursor disappears, and the status bar
text changes distractingly. Neither should happen.
