Yes, sure (that is due to a question with no replies, previously maden
in italian part of this site):

I've installed the original 10.04 LTS Lucid Ubuntu by the original CD requested
by web, more than a week ago: I've 2 partitions, one karmic, one Lucid. Lucid
was fantastic: I made all upgrades (requested & proposed), and I resolved many
problems I had with Karmic, like using with network manager my 3G USB modem
Alcatel X215S.
All was fine until I've installed:

sudo apt-get install skype

Next reboot this was the result:

requirement "user ingroup nopasswdlogin" not met by user
nox11 mode, ignoring PAM_TTY :0

If I login, screen become blank fro a while and then again login screen. I've
no way to enter with another user or with failsafe login (same effect), my
display card IS NOT nVidia...I can only enter by CTRL-ALT-F1.
What a pity, when I make original question someone suggests me to de-install
(purge) and reinstall gdm 2.30 and ubuntu-desktop; I don't know how to connect
internet by command line, so i did it in this way:

1) download packages (and dependencies) by karmic
2) copy them on Lucid home
3) install them with dpkg

Now, there are some configuration problems declared by dpkg, and the
only way to resolve seems

sudo apt-get install -f

, but no one replies me how to connect my 3G by command line; by the way, the
gdm problem seems affects many others on lucid with different workaround, so it
seems a bug on 2.30 release.
So, even I solve this configuration problem, how to solve GDM first problem?
I've all logs to post here for more information.
Thanks in advance.
