Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-network

Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.20-12-generic does not support my Belkin Wireless Notebook
card.
I can't get it to connect to my router.

However when I boot up Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.20-12-generic (recovery mode)
my network Belkin wireless card comes to life and I'm able to connect to
my router. I'm writing this by using the Ubuntu, kernel
2.6.20-12-generic (recovery mode) to get my Belkin 54g F5D7010 card to
work.

I used the beta Ubuntu 7.04 CD to install on my laptop. I had Ubuntu
6.10 installed prior to this and everything, networking wise worked
fine.

I using WEP 64 bit encryption security and a SSID of Belkin 54g. I've
tried disabling the security but this didn't make a diference. My
Belkin wireless card still refused to connect to the router.

I see the lights come on on the card as it tries to find my router but I
never see any signal strength bars indicating the card ever found a
wireless network.
