I'm afraid that hasn't quite fixed the bug. When hddtemp isn't running, adding the computertemp applet to the panel causes something completely unusable to be added to the panel! I'm seeing 1 black pixel appear on the panel (against the new transparent background - nice!), or sometimes a vertical line of black pixels! it doesn't appear to be selectable and I have to kill it via a terminal! This is arguably worse than before. :oP
Once hddtemp is running, I am able to add computertemp. I am then able to get to it's preferences and select that I want to use hwmon instead of hddtemp. This is as it was before. Having got computertemp started and using hwmon, I can then also stop hddtemp without affecting computertemp. So computertemp is clearly capable of running without hddtemp, even though having hddtemp running is currently a requirement of running computertemp. Let me know if you need any more testing doing - I'm happy to help. -- computertemp applet unusable without hddtemp installed and running https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/568250 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
