Public bug reported:

During Lucid development I was running kernel versions 2.6.32-14 and -15
on a Thinkpad X31 laptop. The screen resolution was good (1280x1024).
Later I updated the computer to newest Lucid with kernel 2.6.32-22 and
the maximum resolution in my X shrank to 1024x768.

I still have the -15 kernel available in the Grub menu and when I boot
with the older kernel the resolution is fine (1280x1024). So the issue
is a regression in kernel -22.

I'm a developer and I'm happy to debug this myself if somebody could give
directions on what to look for. I have no clue what things have changed between
kernel -15 and -22.
