Wow. Gnome-terminal and nautilus launch within a second now. They use to take at least 2 seconds.
If I read the comments here 'correctly' this is not a bug, but a workaround for bugs in _some_ applications. Nevertheless, it might be a good idea to apply this patch by default, just for Feisty.
