I have the same problem! The cube works now after applying the gconftool-2 solution from the top but only two sides of the desktop are showed (even after adding 4 workspaces).
My second problem is that I'm using dual monitors and I have 2 cubes when i rotate. In a another distro(Rh-fc6) it was possible to have a big large unified cube that goes over both monitors.
