This is not specific to SSDs. I am seeeing this on a Lenovo X61 tablet with an ordinary SATA drive. In my case this definitely has to do with the USB stick being connected. With the desktop (32-bit) and the netbook live disks if I remove the usb drive (breaking the rootfs) before cllicking continue from the keyboard selection screen it will successfully detect the hard drive and continue to the end of the install before hanging when it can't find the needed files. Otherwise it freezes displaying the keyboard selection screen.
I have also tried installing using a usb installation of the alternate cd (prepared with unetbootin) and it progresses to the partitioning page, but freezes at 43% stating it is scanning drives. I have attached the syslog and partman log from this attempt. ** Attachment added: "PartmanSyslog.zip" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/50121731/PartmanSyslog.zip -- Lucid LTS Live CD installer hangs after keyboard selection (Step 3) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/572878 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
