I followed the instructions, read the whole page, enabled apport, restarted Ubuntu, saw that gnome-settings-daemon was not in the process list and that my theme was not correctly loaded, and that nothing was in /var/crash. I previously installed all debug symbols, as I said in my previous post.
What now?
