>From what I see, the difference is that you upgraded. I did a clean install. As you can see from other posts, those who made a clean install got rid of the problem. In 9.04 and 9.10 the problem I had was with password protected shares only, and adding those 2 lines to smb.conf fixed it. Now in 10.04 I could not mount any share until I added the 2 lines. I have 3 computers now with 10.04 and all of them are doing fine with the samba shares (one laptop and 2 desktops).
