Same problem with with the 2.6.34 kernel from kernel.ubuntu.com. Display locks up randomly, text mode flashes a few times, and then gives me a message about Ubuntu running in low graphics mode. Only solution to get X back up is to reboot. Last time encountered was when I tried to launch OsmosDemo. $ cat kern.log | grep -i i915 Jun 3 03:24:36 noccy-laptop kernel: [ 31.371500] i915 0000:00:02.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16 Jun 3 03:24:36 noccy-laptop kernel: [ 31.371515] i915 0000:00:02.0: setting latency timer to 64 Jun 3 03:24:36 noccy-laptop kernel: [ 32.098461] [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20080730 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0 Jun 3 03:49:12 noccy-laptop kernel: [ 1507.968078] [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed...
