I tried to upgrade like the headline suggests, and failed:
1. at some point, there was an error message saying that the installer must
rollback
2. then it said it couldn't rollback
3. then the system went completely stoned
I really can't tell all the details as I was simply stuck with a frozen
computer and couldn't save data or any (picked on ubiquity for no good
reason... this is also why I am not attaching "/var/log/syslog" requested in
guidelines, and BTW - "/var/log/partman: No such file or directory")
I am currently seeing weird "cannot set LC_MESSAGES" when I install packages
and the standard window buttons are on the left.
I booted up the live CD and the desktop was completely different then the one I
have now: attached is a screenshot.
Just tell where to poke and I will send whatever required...
