I can confirm - if oo.o quickstarter is running, none of the GUI logout (reboot, shutdown, etc) buttons will work. If I exit the quickstarter, the GUI logout buttons work again.
Regardless of the state of the oo.o quickstarter, if I run: gnome-session-save --logout I log right out, no problem! (What is the disadvantage of using "gnome-session-save"?
