I rebooted, and my problem hasn't changed. Still nothing from the BIOS or grub. Nor could I get the BIOS to start by hitting the Del key (I tried for a minute or so).
I just noticed, though, that if I Ctrl-Alt-F1 to switch to a console window, that too is blank. Also during the reboot I had the Nvidia's VGA output plugged directly into the CRT, and the CRT switched to show the DVI input, but even so, I didn't get to see the boot messages on that either.
