This same issue seems to bother all SWT based applications (like Azureus/Vuze). But running Vuze you get a little bit more verbose 1) error message which actually helped me to find a temporary solution.
For me the solution which makes Eclipse work again (until the real bug is fixed) was: jar...@sentti:~/btrfs/dev/eclipse$ XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 ./eclipse 1) Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'Vuze' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 8171 error_code 8 request_code 148 minor_code 4) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) aborting... -- eclipse crashes due to xulrunner https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/528324 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
