Please don't close bugs just because of age. Sometimes it just takes a longer time to get them fixed, but closing it because it is over a year old will only result in someone else filing a new bug, requiring the same actions be taken for that bug.
There is no criteria anywhere that says a bug can not remain open for as long as it takes to get it fixed. For example, bug #1 has been open since Ubuntu was started.
