Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
On attempted boot of a LiveCD image of 10.04 release for initial installation, the laptop screen goes dark, you hear the disk drive run for a long time, you hear even the cheery ubuntu sound. But no video. If you have an external monitor plugged in, you even get the X background and cursor on the external screen; but the internal stays dark. This may (or may not) be the same as launchpad bug #554569, which is very similar hardware from IBM and very similar symptoms; but is related to the use of an embedded DP panel. The bug is being worked upstream on fdo at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28070 [Arrandale] No output (black) on eDP Attached are the dmesg output and rom contents provided upstream. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Cannot install on HP 2540p laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585651 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
