I've tried two kernels now from the Mainline set. linux-image-2.6.31-020631rc7-generic won't sleep properly (well, it won't sleep)
linux-image-2.6.34-999-generic doesn't seem to recognize the wireless adapter. I haven't tried downloading the USB key version of 10.4 (don't have a CD rom), but I'll give that a whirl.
