Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer
I have a filename.avi, and same filename.srt, that holds the subtitles. When I try to load the filename.avi, I get the Error message : GstPlayBin: A subtitle stream was detected, but no video stream. When I remove the filename.srt, I get the Add/Remove application that suggest me to install ffmpeg, and thats Ok. In summary, the error happens when two conditions occur: 1. Subtitle file exists. 2. Movie codec does not exist.
