I just performed John's suggestions. Below is a copy of xsessions.error file. I did goofed up during John's fix by deleting the entire default folder. Opps!! I restored the folder and then deleted only the .dat file like he told me to. This miscue may be reflected in the sessions file, I don't know, cuz I can't interpret what this file says. I also note that these 2 lines are still present: "unable to find rmda in /home/barry/.cache/gnome-mplayer/plugin/gecko-mediaplayerbjduni
