Nope no joy. I followed these steps and then added an empty directory the Ubuntu One folder in nautilus. That synchronised.
Then I copied a folder with two files into the directory. The Ubuntu One preferences says "Synchronisation Complete", but the folder icon still has the grey two arrows indicating it is not synchronised yet. Looks like the Ubuntu One client is getting into an inconsistent state -- it's either synchronised or not right?
