Thanks a lot, Scott, for your through summary. Is there a good way to install Lucid with the mainline kernels without ever booting with kernels affected by this issue, or would this require a custom install image (with one of the mainline kernels on the installation medium, and one being able to install the mainline kernel before rebooting into the installed system)?
