Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu (or its derivatives!) better. Can you make sure that side
scrolling is enabled in the Mouse preferences? (Note that I don't have a
computer with a touchpad right now, so I am asking this based on my
memory). This is not typically enabled by default. Anyway, we need some
more information from you before we can start working on this bug.
Please run the following command which will attach necessary
information:
apport-collect 576084
The cursor theme problem is a known issue that is probably caused by
using Compiz (Desktop Effects).
