I'm seeing a variant of this bug: when composing a message and sending it after moving to a different network sending fails because the previous smtp server is unreachable (jay firewalls) and going to the account settings and selecting a different smtp server does not help, thunderbird keeps trying the old smtp server. The new smtp server selection isn't used until I quit and restart thunderbird.
