The version available lags the upstream version (http://code.google.com/p/eid-mw/downloads/list, http://eid.belgium.be/nl/Hoe_installeer_je_de_eID/Linux/) quite a lot. If possible, please update: the recent versions provide the possibility to read more than just the id-card, but also the social-security card. I'm willing to help test if necessary. Note that the older versions seem no longer available upstream.
