Public bug reported: I have five clean instalations of Ubuntu 10.04 on the laptops and on the pc, 64 and 32 bit platform also. All of these computers have the same problem: It is not possible shut down, log off from Gnome. Sometimes it is working, sometimes not.
But, there is no way to shut down computer (only power off button, or shell command). Like a workaround I add new icon with this launcher: dbus-send --print-reply --system --dest=org.freedesktop.Hal /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.SystemPowerManagement.Shutdown But this is only workaround for now. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- I can not log off or shut down pc from Gnome https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/581627 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
