Public bug reported: System is a Thinkpad T410 with 6050 series chipset (no microcode yet) so external ALFA AWUS036H wifi adapter is being used. Ubuntu version is 10.04 with 2.6.32-22-generic kernel.
Adapter works fine until resuming from a suspend (opening the laptop lid). At this point a reboot is required to get the adapter working again. Bug report was filed from the pre-suspend state, but post- suspend diagnostics will be attached. Possibly key dmesg lines (after resume): [ 0.985197] irq 9: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option) [ 0.985201] Pid: 1315, comm: Xorg Tainted: P 2.6.32-22-generic #33-Ubuntu [ 0.985203] Call Trace: [ 0.985205] <IRQ> [<ffffffff810c6a7b>] __report_bad_irq+0x2b/0xa0 [ 0.985218] [<ffffffff810c6c7c>] note_interrupt+0x18c/0x1d0 [ 0.985222] [<ffffffff8106e405>] ? __do_softirq+0x115/0x1e0 [ 0.985223] [<ffffffff810c737d>] handle_fasteoi_irq+0xdd/0x100 [ 0.985227] [<ffffffff81015d12>] handle_irq+0x22/0x30 [ 0.985230] [<ffffffff81545e9c>] do_IRQ+0x6c/0xf0[ 0.985812] [<ffffffffa062ccfa>] ? _nv004448rm+0x1d6/0x2ca [nvidia] [ 0.985940] [<ffffffffa062d98c>] ? _nv004683rm+0x375/0x9f4 [nvidia] [ 0.986068] [<ffffffffa062fd4d>] ? rm_change_res_mode+0xb0/0xd5 [nvidia] [ 0.986177] [<ffffffffa03e1e77>] ? _nv004508rm+0x2c7/0x5e9 [nvidia] [ 0.986311] [<ffffffffa062fc65>] ? rm_ioctl+0x2f/0x67 [nvidia] [ 0.986427] [<ffffffffa071f04c>] ? nv_kern_ioctl+0x15c/0x450 [nvidia] [ 0.986533] [<ffffffffa071f391>] ? nv_kern_unlocked_ioctl+0x21/0x30 [nvidia] [ 0.986538] [<ffffffff81152a92>] ? vfs_ioctl+0x22/0xa0 [ 0.986540] [<ffffffff81152d41>] ? do_vfs_ioctl+0x81/0x380 [ 0.986543] [<ffffffff81143e7e>] ? fget_light+0x2e/0x90 [ 0.986545] [<ffffffff811530c1>] ? sys_ioctl+0x81/0xa0 [ 0.986549] [<ffffffff81013553>] ? stub_iopl+0x13/0x20 [ 0.986551] [<ffffffff810131b2>] ? system_call_fastpath+0x16/0x1b [ 0.986552] handlers: [ 0.986553] [<ffffffff812e35f4>] (acpi_irq+0x0/0x31) [ 0.986557] Disabling IRQ #9 [ 0.985232] [<ffffffff81013b13>] ret_from_intr+0x0/0x11 [ 0.985233] <EOI> [<ffffffffa072130b>] ? os_mem_copy+0x2b/0x80 [nvidia] [ 0.985541] [<ffffffffa062732c>] ? _nv006546rm+0x29/0x34 [nvidia] [ 0.985674] [<ffffffffa062b0a4>] ? _nv004447rm+0x442/0x65c [nvidia] Also noteworthy is that lsusb stops listing the adapter after resume.
