I had this problem using pop3 GMail in 9.10 that was fixed by the
efforts of Neil.

I have done a clean install of 10.04 Lucid and the indicator has worked
out of the box, even after restoring my Evolution backup from 9.10.

Evolution 2.28.2
Evolution Indicator and Mail Notification plugins were swtiched on as default.

I'm using the Ubuntu-Mono-Dark icon set and the mail indicator turns
green when a new mail arrives. However, Evolution has to loaded and
minimised for this to work. If Evolution is full screen (ie. open) on
another desktop for instance then the mail is simply downloaded and no
indication is given in the taskbar.

Regards

Z
