Also affects Lenovo W500 running Lucid (10.04). There is a slight difference in that you can actually enter a working Guest Session, but on exiting it and re-entering your previous logged-in account, you get a black screen with only an active mouse cursor. This remains and nothing else happens; you can move the cursor, but that's all. No response to keystrokes; hard reboot required to recover.
