Ok Till, I tried Karmic. I can confirm that the behaviour of the printer is exactly the same. In other words no, it didn't work out-of- the-box. I didn't try any manufacturer-supplied driver though. It defaulted to 'generic' on startup but when searching for drivers under System>Adminitration>Printing it recognises that it's a CX11 but searches and chooses a CX21 driver, which when installed still doesn't work.
