You can launch 'firefox -ProfileManager' again and select which profile to use, then launch Firefox and it should launch using that profile unless you specify otherwise.
Could you let us know what output you get when you run Firefox from a terminal? Just run 'firefox', try to load a page, then close Firefox and paste the output into a comment.
