This has started happening for me after the update on 5h May 2010 - I think there was an update for compiz together with new kernel 2.6.32-22. My compiz goes up to 80% cpu after moving any window, everything is sluggish. This does not happen when I turn off visual effects. I have an nVidia GeForce card.
