@Nick Lib - Thanks for the tip about running "aticonfig --initial" after installing fglrx. I forgot to mention that in comment 2.
@cfwrsfan - I you have an NVIDIA GTX280 you have a different bug. Please open a new bug and attach the output of lspci -vvnn Also, I don't think you want to be messing with noapic. APIC is the Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Programmable_Interrupt_Controller ) and is completely different to acpi, which is the the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACPI ). ACPI is older (but is still being actively developed). -- 10.4 RC Live CD - Blank screen with Radeon 5870 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569372 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
