Xdebug 2.1.0 rc1 has been available since 2010-04-06. I compiled it. It fixes the issue. So far, I've encountered no problem. I suggest there should be an update to the Ubuntu Xdebug-package as soon as Xdebug 2.1.0 reaches stable. Xdebug's kind of vital for php-developers and in the current state is unusable.
