Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20
Hello, I've got a problem with my laptop thinkpad T40, ehci_hcd usb2.0 doesn't work at all. If I plug my external HDD or my DVBT tuner I've got the following error: [ 39.496000] Bluetooth: L2CAP ver 2.8 [ 39.496000] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized [ 39.720000] Bluetooth: RFCOMM socket layer initialized [ 39.720000] Bluetooth: RFCOMM TTY layer initialized [ 39.720000] Bluetooth: RFCOMM ver 1.8 [ 40.148000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 [ 43.772000] eth1: no IPv6 routers present [ 44.180000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 19 [ 46.092000] eth0: no IPv6 routers present [ 60.812000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 84 [ 65.600000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 102 [ 67.868000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 110 [ 68.372000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 111 [ 70.640000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 119 [ 71.144000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 120 [ 71.900000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 122 [ 74.168000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 [ 74.672000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 [ 74.932000] ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: port 4 reset error -110 [ 74.932000] hub 4-0:1.0: hub_port_status failed (err = -32) [ 76.940000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 11 [ 78.200000] usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 15 Here's the output of lspci:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lsusb Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 A workaround is to remove the ehci_hcd driver and use usb1.0... (sudo rmmod ehci_hcd). I found a lot of people having the same problem (google) but still no solutions! So I decided to open a new bug. I'm using ubuntu 7.04 feisty fawn but the problem occurred also with edgy eft (I can't remember the kernel version...). Actual kernel: Linux xens-laptop 2.6.20-12-generic #2 SMP Sun Mar 18 03:07:14 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux I also tried the following boot options: (without results) - noapic - nolapic - acpi=off - pci=noacpi last but not least... usb 2.0 works fine with windows XP so it's not a hardware issue ;) Cu, xens ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- ehci_hcd usb2.0 doesn't work on my thinkpad T40 https://launchpad.net/bugs/94540 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
