As Robert Pearce wrote, GTK+Extra is not dead and GPSim needs it (and I need GPSim GUI as many other users). GTK+Extra 2.1.2 is stable and fully compatible with GTK 2.18 and GTK+Extra 3 is under development so it's a very good idea re-enter GTK+Extra into universe as soon as possible. GPSim works without GUI only now and for it's users is really tedious!
