Your logs indicate that the kernel encountered too many errors on the hard disk and gave up writing to it for fear of causing further damage. This is often due to a faulty hard disk, and isn't an installer bug as such. It may help to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment.
Feisty's installer will detect this condition and display an error message similar to the above rather than crashing. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Colin Watson Status: Unconfirmed => Rejected -- Installer crash https://launchpad.net/bugs/85877 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
