Your logs indicate that the kernel encountered too many errors on the
hard disk and gave up writing to it for fear of causing further damage.
This is often due to a faulty hard disk, and isn't an installer bug as
such. It may help to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of
replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment.

Feisty's installer will detect this condition and display an error
message similar to the above rather than crashing.
