Similar issue. Suspend/resume used to work in 9.04. After upgrade to 9.10, I have to press spacebar on keyboard and/or mouse click, then press power button to resume. If I press power button without those actions, it goes to normal boot up sequence, although machine exhibits proper behaviour while sleeping (power LED flashing intermittently). Problem persists after upgrade to 10.04.
