Public bug reported: Binary package hint: wine1.2
An .exe on a cdrom is being prevented from running due to the Non-Exec Policy, this is causing some confusion among users. While there are several ways to suggest to have the .exe run, (short of editing the default launch command), it does seem an improper implementation of the policy. Combine this with the lack of drive detection in wine and it's a bit of a mess for some. So again while there several workarounds to suggest to users, it would be nice to get some clarification if this was intended behavior ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: wine (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-21.32-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-21-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: i386 Date: Tue May 4 15:13:37 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Alpha i386 (20100416) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: wine1.2 ** Affects: wine1.2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 lucid -- Non-Exec Policy being applied to .exe on cdrom https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575355 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
