I think this bug is actually the same as bug 522538 The reason of saying that: the bug report of httplib2 says that "AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'makefile'" is a cryptic error and the actual error here would be "socket.error: [Errno 111] Connection refused" the patched version of httplib2 that I proposed might just be showing the real error, but its just my guess :)
