The same happens with software raid in 10.04 (amd64)

If an md device is formatted as swap the live system starts using the
components as swap instead of the md device.
Perhaps because mdadm is not installed by default? I don't know if mdadm is
just a tool or if it's necessary for handling the softraids.
This also hinders the assembly of the raid device. One has to swapoff the
components first.

The installer marks the components as swap even if it sees the md device itself.
Unmarking them DOES change the partitions' id from raid autodetect (FD) to
linux-swap (82).

While the system was installing I reverted them to raid auto using fdisk
without any obvious errors.
(The new system did not start, but for a different reason.)

Even if I swap the components off and assemble the raid, the installer
wants to format the components as well as the md device.
