Public bug reported: Binary package hint: smart-notifier
When upgrading from Karmic to Lucid the smart-notifier package breaks the complete upgrading process and leaves the system in an inconsistent state. To reproduce: * have smart-notifier (0.28-1.1ubuntu2) installed in 9.10 * start upgrading Ubuntu from 9.10 to 10.04 * late in the upgrading process, when the smart-notifier package is going to be configured, the whole GNOME session is killed suddenly and you're thrown back to the GDM login screen * the upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04 remains unfinished I can reproduce this behaviour on two completely different machines (laptop and desktop pc, both with Ubuntu i386 desktop versions installed) I can also reproduce this on a freshly installed 10.04, which was not upgraded from 9.10: just install smart-notifier and the GNOME session will be killed. lsb_release -a: Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 Codename: karmic ** Affects: smart-notifier (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Crashes the whole upgrade from Karmic to Lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574419 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
