Public bug reported: Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Release: 10.04
My computer: EeePC 901 My wireless card: RaLink - rt2860 (rt2860sta) Expect to happen: Successfully connect and stay connected to a WPA/WPA2 wireless network. What happens: When the computer first turns on and my wireless is set to AUTO Connect, it will connect and stay connected for about 1-2 minutes before reporting: "<network-name> Disconnected". After that, every time I try to connect it asks for the passkey, which I input, it then has the icon of the wireless trying to connect in the tool bar, it tries to connect for a few minutes until it asks for the passkey again, and it goes in an endless loop like that. ATTACHED: dmesg from first trying to connect to a WPA2 network until it asked for the WPA2 key again. edw...@ed-netbook:~$ sudo dmesg [ 6134.708183] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 1(1) BSS returned, data->length = 181 [ 6134.709043] ==>rt_ioctl_siwfreq::SIOCSIWFREQ[cmd=0x8b04] (Channel=11) [ 6144.744213] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 1(1) BSS returned, data->length = 181 [ 6144.744841] ==>rt_ioctl_siwfreq::SIOCSIWFREQ[cmd=0x8b04] (Channel=11) [ 6154.765175] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 1(1) BSS returned, data->length = 181 [ 6154.765631] ==>rt_ioctl_siwfreq::SIOCSIWFREQ[cmd=0x8b04] (Channel=11) [ 6164.779414] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 1(1) BSS returned, data->length = 181 [ 6164.780238] ==>rt_ioctl_siwfreq::SIOCSIWFREQ[cmd=0x8b04] (Channel=11) [ 6174.799591] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 1(1) BSS returned, data->length = 181 [ 6174.800443] ==>rt_ioctl_siwfreq::SIOCSIWFREQ[cmd=0x8b04] (Channel=11) [ 6184.812189] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 1(1) BSS returned, data->length = 181 [ 6184.813078] ==>rt_ioctl_siwfreq::SIOCSIWFREQ[cmd=0x8b04] (Channel=11) [ 6194.829207] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 1(1) BSS returned, data->length = 181 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- new Wireless Doesn't Connect! rt2860 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574307 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
