More than strange: as workaround I had changed "laptop lid" and
"suspend" behavior in "Power Management" to "Hibernate". I opened a
console and executed 'sudo sh -c "sync; echo 1 > /sys/power/pm_trace;
pm-suspend"' as described. Suspend worked as usual; resume too!?! So I
did a "Suspend" from the "Go Home" applet, which resumed well, too!
After changing the "laptop lid" and "suspend" behavior in "Power
Management" to "Suspend" and closing the lid: resume works, no more
black screen! Demo effect? Will test with a longer suspension time.
