Seems like an error message change, if one package has issues on the config, unless the core system, just that package, and not entirely fatal/ scarey, and a friendlier error would help...
i've apt-get remove emacs23 also apt-get autoremove got rid of some [likely] dead packages and life is better... Title bar problems and other issues but the system seems generally useable.
