Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
Update Manager does not prompt to upgrade with LTS releases only selected in software sources. On my brothers 9.10 machine I brought up update manager, installed all updates, rebooted as requested. Went back into update manager and hit check: no prompt to upgrade. Tried "update-manager -d" via F2 run app, still no option. Tried via terminal via aptitude and apt-get , it says no update available or just does not upgrade dep on which command was used. To get it to pop up, I had to go into software sources>updates>release upgrade>show new distribution releases and change the option to normal releases. It then came up and I was able to begin the upgrade. As we all are aware, 10.04 is an LTS release. It seems as if maybe the system does not realize that? Not sure if this carries into 10.04.
