A this time it's impossible the bug is fixed that's sure. If ubuntu release the 10.04 with this bug that's a disaster as you say !! It's a common graphic card, how many people could be touch ? How many could be touch and who unknow what's a recovery mode or how to enter in it ?
With the new ubuntu grub/boot loader which don't show the grub select screen, I use two hours to find how to have the grub select screen and the recovery mode option. For non geeks people with 8XX graphics card that's mean a broken pc. Broken because they'll never update their install because they didn't know how update it in commad line, with synapitcs or how to have a failsafe screen. Most of them certainly did'nt know than an update could remove the bug or what's a bug report and come here to have more informations. -- 10.04 rc livecd boots into black/blank screen (intel 82852/855GM graphic card) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/568779 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
