I installed Jaunty and Karmic and in both cases the microphones are muted by default. Using the alsamixer I managed to use the built-in microphone. The external microphone doesn't work in any version. The line out works fine except the fact that it doesn't mute the built-in speakers, so the sound goes both ways. This happens in Jaunty, Karmic and Lucid. I was able to record using the built-in microphone (Jaunty and Karmic), but the quality of the recording is very poor. In Lucid I wasn't able to use either microphone.
