Public bug reported:

Output of lsb_release :

LSB Version:
core-2.0-ia32:core-2.0-noarch:core-3.0-ia32:core-3.0-noarch:core-3.1-ia32:core-3.1-noarch:core-3.2-ia32:core-3.2-noarch:core-4.0-ia32:core-4.0-noarch

Scenario:

When there is a file that is being downloaded currently, say in
/home/user/downloads, and you want to mail an attachment that is
currently residing at /home/user/downloads or /home/user/ it becomes
impossible to choose the file. When some arrow key is pressed once, some
file from the list of files in the box is highlighted and the highlight
"moves up" as though someone is pressing the "up" arrow key.

Steps to recreate:

1. Download something big ( more than 200 MiB ) to your home directory over a
normal speed Internet connection (100 - 150Kbps) . For e.g. download some lucid
ISO file over a 100Kbps connection so that it takes a substantial amount of
time for the download to complete. e.g. lucid.iso
2. Lets say your home directory is "/home/user"
3. Now when the download is in progress, open your browser and go to some site
where you can upload or attach files. Best would be to open your mail account
and compose a new message and click on the attach button.
4. Now try to attach a file that is already located in /home/user. E.g.
xyz.png
5. Now you may not be able to select the file at all.. Now press the "Down
Arrow". This should show the highlighting of each file of the list one by one.
6. You must also be able to see the currently downloading file in the list
whose size is constantly increasing.
