Ubuntu 9.10 up-to-date here. Firefox does not recognize <textarea /> as <textarea></textarea>. Workaround: don't use the self-closing tag, use the long version instead. Bug example (XHTML 1.1 valid): http://www.virtual-bit.com/textareaexample.php Intended behavior (workaround, still XHTML 1.1 valid): http://www.virtual-bit.com/textareaworkaround.php I don't mark this as a security problem because I don't know if there's a memory corruption going on here.
